Zero Plastic options in Taranaki: our interactive map
For #PlasticFree July we want to help you shop in Taranaki and avoid as much plastic packaging as possible.
Why should we avoid plastic?
Plastic is made of fossil fuels and is directly harming our taiao (nature) and communities (emissions, pollution).
Recycling plastic uses a lot of energy and resources, and only a small quantity of all the plastic is recycled (approximately 10%).
Recycling plastic is not a “closed infinite loop” and is not sustainable. We should all aim to reduce our use of plastic and disposable items in general.
