Egmont Refuse offers a wide range of recycling solutions, ensuring that materials are diverted from landfills. You can drop off: 

  • Cardboard (flattened) and paper

  • Cans, tins, and milk bottles

  • Plastics #1, #2, #4, and #5

You can also drop off alternative recycling*, not collected on the kerbside: 

  • Soft plastics (including large quantities of clear soft plastics from businesses)

  • Polystyrene (including large quantities from businesses) - Check in at the office, only Monday to Friday

  • Pressurized cans

  • Plastic #4 (low-density polyethylene)

  • Shredded paper

  • Broken wheelie bins

  • Oversized plastic containers

  • Milk bottle lids

*Costs may apply, check with them first!

All items collected will be sorted, packed on-site and sent to the right manufacturer for recycling. 

More than “just recycling”

Egmont Refuse isn’t just about collecting waste—they’re also committed to support public education and conservation. 

They started the milk bottles challenge in Taranaki and are processing all the lids collected. 

They have also planted many natives around their recycling facility to attract birds, absorb carbon and beautify the area!
